(Deadline of submission: 14 March 2026 for June 2026 membership intake)
Background
The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) is pleased to invite members of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) to explore a simplified pathway to HKIE Corporate Membership in the civil discipline. With the recent renewal of our Reciprocal Mutual Recognition Agreement (RRA), ICE members in the civil discipline can now continue to enjoy a streamlined application process, which includes a direct entry without the professional interview for candidates satisfying the relevant requirements.
We welcome you to join our vibrant engineering community and expand your professional recognition in Hong Kong and beyond.
Renewed Agreement, Enhanced Opportunities
The HKIE-ICE Mutual Recognition Agreement has been formally renewed until November 2030. This renewal continues our commitment to fostering global professional mobility and mutual recognition among engineers.
Key Benefit: Direct Entry for Eligible ICE Members
Under this agreement, eligible ICE members may qualify for direct entry without the HKIE professional interview. By clearly demonstrating your relevant experience in the civil discipline, you can enjoy a faster, more direct route to becoming an HKIE Corporate Member; after the review by the Discipline Advisory Panel.
