Programme Highlight

Contract No. YL/2023/02 – Hung Shui Kiu/Ha Tsuen New Development Area Second Phase Development – Contract 2 – Fresh Water Service Reservoir and Associated Mainlaying Works involves the site formation and construction of the Tan Kwai Tsuen East Fresh Water Service Reservoir, along with the laying of fresh water and flushing water mains. This project is a critical component of providing the infrastructure supporting the new population intake and economic activities for the Hung Shui Kiu/Ha Tsuen New Development Area which is located on the west of the Northern Metropolis.

A key highlight of the project is the site formation and geotechnical investigation works of the Tan Kwai Tsuen East Fresh Water Service Reservoir on undulating terrain and unforeseen ground condition. The project team makes good use of various innovation technology (e.g. SmartEye platform merging with low attitude economy regulatory sandbox) and construction methods (e.g. geophysical survey methods) to help tackle the challenges.   It demonstrates how the project team’s collaborative effort with a view of providing more effective engineering solutions on contract administration with time and cost savings to the project.

This technical visit will begin with a brief introduction of the project and follow by site walk to major activities on site.
