Location Highlight

The Lam Tei Quarry site is located about three kilometres north of Tuen Mun New Town. The current rehabilitation contract commenced in 2015 and approximately end in 2025. During this period, raw rock was excavated from the quarry and crushed into rock products for the manufacture of construction materials. To maintain a local quarry, an underground quarrying contract was signed in June 2025 and is scheduled to be completed in 2040. The works mainly include design and build for underground quarrying at Lam Tei Quarry, including quarrying, geotechnical, tunnelling, drainage, and landscaping works. The visit will be followed by a visit to the concrete plant within the quarry.

• The maximum number of participants is limited to 30 on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to members of the HKIE Civil Division and Building Division.
• Applicants who have already successfully registered to or participated in more than FIVE (5) visits organised by the Civil Division and Building Division in the session 2024-25 will be given lower priority during the process of registration.
• Safety shoes are required for the visit.
