Programme Highlight

Increasing land supply tops the agenda of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government.  The multi-pronged strategy to increase land supply in the past few years is beginning to deliver results.  The various short-term, medium-term and long-term land supply initiatives and their challenges will be discussed in this technical seminar.  One of the major service areas of the Civil Engineering and Development Department (CEDD) is the provision of land and infrastructure.  In the past, CEDD carried out new town development to cope with the increase in population and to improve the living environment by decentralizing the population from the over-crowded urban districts.  CEDD is now developing New Development Areas (NDAs) and exploring new strategies to enhance land supply.  Development of NDAs and the strategies to enhance land supply will be presented and discussed.
