Programme Highlight

Contract HY/2020/09, Provision of Universal Accessibility Facilities at Footbridges, Elevated Walkways and Subways - Package 4 Contract 2 aims to retrofit barrier-free access (BFA) facilities at public walkways, striving to create a “universally accessible” environment in the community to facilitate the access to public walkways to those in need. The project involves the design and construction of a total of 16 lifts for 13 walkways in Central & Western, Wan Chai, Southern, Kowloon City, Kwun Tong and Wong Tai Sin Districts and associated civil works, geotechnical works, electrical and mechanical works, modification works for existing structures, roads and drainage works, lighting works and landscaping works. The project commenced in November 2021 and is anticipated to be completed in February 2025.

 

The site visit will begin with a brief introduction of the project. Including the pilot application of MiC in lift-retrofitting works in UA Programme, the assembly of MiC modules at the assembly yard, and the on-site installation of MiC modules. Followed by a video demonstration of the assembly of MiC modules and on-site installation works for the 1st MiC Lift at Walkway No. KC01. A Q&A session will be held afterwards.
