The latest “Construction Manpower Forecast” published by the Construction Industry Council estimated that the overall 10-year construction expenditure would reach a level over HK$300 billion per annum.  Based on the forecast, we are facing the challenges of shortage and ageing of the labour force in the upcoming years.  Using precast unit and Modular Integrated Construction (MiC) is one of the solutions for tackling the shortfall of manpower.  This seminar will discuss the consideration and limitation of on-site installation of precast units and how the Modular Integrated Formwork (MiF) was developed and implemented in recent years.

Speaker

Mr Wang Kei Ming is the Chairman of Hong Kong Formwork Contractors Association who has more than 45 years’ experience in the construction industry.  He has participated in different kinds of project including building, civil, stations and airport concourse.  Mr Wang is the founder of the application of MiF and has registered his product as the pre-approved product of Construction Innovation & Technology Fund.
