Site Visit – Pedestrian Subway at Shek Mun

Programme Highlight

The project comprises the construction of a pedestrian subway of 50 meters long with 8 meters internal width, underneath and across Tate's Cairn Highway connecting On Muk Street and the columbarium site at On Hing Lane. Associated works include provision of footpaths at both ends of the subway with queuing areas, lighting and drainage services, barrier-free accesses, landscaping works as well as other ancillary facilities.

 

The site visit will begin with a presentation regarding the contract background, construction methods and sequences of various civil works, engineering difficulties encountered, and smart technology applied in this project, followed by a Q&A session from the RSS team. A site walk will follow after the briefing by the RSS, covering both the western and eastern shaft of the site.

  • The maximum number of participants is limited to 25 on a first-come first-served basis with priority given to members of the Civil Division.
  • Applicants who have already successfully registered to or participated in more than FIVE (5) visits organized by Civil Division in the session 2022-23 will be given lower priority during the process of registration.

  • Only successful applicants will be notified on or before the visit.
  • An attendance certificate will be issued to participants after the site visit.
