Programme Highlights

Hong Kong local construction industry has played a significant role in building the foundations and physical structures that have supported the success and long-term development of Hong Kong’s economy and community.  The HKSAR Government has developed Construction 2.0, comprising of three key pillars: Innovation, Professionalisation and Revitalisation, to secure Hong Kong’s established regional leadership position and enhance the foundations of construction industry to ensure its forthgoing sustainability and prospects.

The Development Bureau has introduced several pilot projects for implementing Construction 2.0.  The Expansion of STKSTW Project has been selected as one of the pilot projects in which innovative construction method would be adopted for benchmarking any improvement to the project performance achieved by the construction industry.

Modular Integrated Construction (MiC) is adopted in the construction of project site office of STKSTW. MiC is considered an innovative construction method which can raise project productivity, shortening construction time and enhancing performance in workmanship as well as safety and environmental compliances.

Digital Site Management by the application of Building Information Modelling (BIM), automated instrumental monitoring and mobile technologies has been implemented in this project to facilitate site supervision, safety inspection, quality control, surveying, meeting and documentation.  Digital Site Management can facilitate real-time information sharing to upkeep transparency and collaboration in project administration.
