Programme Highlight

Central Kowloon Route (CKR) is a 4.7 km-long, dual 3-lane trunk road linking Yau Ma Tei Interchange in West Kowloon and the road network at Kai Tak Development and Kowloon Bay in East Kowloon. In the view of frequent traffic congestion of the major east-west corridors, including Lung Cheung Road, Boundary Street, etc., CKR will provide an alternative express route to bypass the congested road network in order to improve the adjacent areas – Wong Tai Sin, Ho Man Tin, Kowloon City, etc.

Contract No. HY/2014/08 includes the construction of access shaft for Central Tunnel and a cut-and cover tunnel at Yau Ma Tei, reconstruction of a portion of Gascoigne Road flyover and temporary reprovisioning of affected facilities, e.g. Jade Hawker Bazaar, Maternal and Child Health Centre and Methadone Clinic.

This technical visit will begin with a brief introduction of the project and follow by site walk to major activities on site.

• Number of participants is limited to 20 on a first-come first-served basis with priority given to members of HKIE Civil Division.
• Applicants who have already successfully registered to or participated in more than FIVE (5) visits organised by Civil Division in the session 2019-20 will be given lower priority during the process of registration.
