[FULL] Technical Visit to Hiram’s Highway Improvement Stage 1 (Contract No. HY/2014/16)

Programme highlight:

Hiram’s Highway Improvement Stage 1 works includes improving two sections of Hiram’s Highway between Clear Water Bay Road and Pak Wai, the existing Ho Chung Road and Luk Mei Tsuen Road.  The improvement works will relieve the traffic congestion on the road section near Marina Cove, plus enhancing the safety of the road section and improving the accessibility to Ho Chung and Luk Mei Tsuen.

HKIE is organizing a technical visit to the Hiram’s Highway Improvement Stage 1 site. Participants will gain valuable knowledge of the challenges faced by the project team, in particular the spatial constraints for erection of the new Ho Chung Bridge – an icon of steel arch road bridge in Hong Kong.

The technical visit includes a brief introduction to the project cum a site walk to the key work fronts.

Registration Details:

• Number of participants is limited to 20 on a first-come first-served basis with priority given to members of HKIE Civil Division.
• Applicants who have already successfully registered to or participated in more than FIVE (5) visits organised by Civil Division in the session 2018-19 will be given lower priority during the process of registration.
