Technical Seminar on “Non Destructive Testing of Civil Engineering Structures using Geophysical Methods”

Date, time & venue
2007-03-21;;

Programme Highlights
This presentation will show how geophysical and related non-destructive testing tools can be used in Civil Engineering to make better engineering decisions. It will focus on the application of Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), on buildings, structures, railways, roads and airports. Where the structure or asset is busy, big or valuable, then this type of non-disruptive, and non-invasive approach can bring real benefits throughout its lifecycle.

Using case studies, the presentation will illustrate how managers, consultants and contractors can benefit from a better understanding of the built environment. The value of obtaining this degree of clarity without the disadvantage of disrupting normal operations or damaging what you are attempting to preserve will also be emphasised.

Speaker(s)
Mr. Jon Baston-Pitt, Director of Fugro Aperio
