The first edition of the Code of Practice was published in 1996 in response to a recommendation arising from the fatal retaining wall failure at Kwun Lung Lau. The second edition of the Code of Practice has recently been issued. This second edition consolidated experience gained in the past years on the monitoring and maintenance of water-carrying services and lessons learnt from landslide incidents in which leakage of water-carrying services was involved. The speaker will present the experience gained and the lessons learnt and will highlight the major changes in the new edition of the Code.
