Date, time & venue
2008-06-19;;

This seminar aims to describe the procedures required to determine the feasibility of using blasting for construction and subsequent preparation of the blasting assessment report that is required in order for blasting to be carried out.

Speaker
Ir Bridges, Guy David Christopher is an associate with Maunsell Geotechnical Services and has recent experience from preparing blasting assessment reports from a number of construction projects including Jordan Valley, Ocean Park, and Lai Chi Kok drainage tunnel. Guy is a geotechnical engineer whose first experience of blasting was while working in a Cornish tin mine. With limited opportunities in the mining industry in the UK, but with an interest in digging holes in the ground, Guy decided to follow a career in civil engineering, specialising in tunnelling. He has been in Hong Kong for nine years, where he has involved in a large number of the highway, railway and drainage tunnel projects that have been undertaken during that time.
