Technical Seminar on Development of High Speed Railways in China, Taiwan and Hong Kong

Taiwan High Speed Rail project is the world’s first privatized high speed rail project and the largest privatized transportation project. Dr. Kao was the VP/Project Management, Station and Construction of the HSR project, he will report on the management of the construction works and the changes that HSR has triggered in the local transportation system.

Ir Gibson, the Head of Project Engineering of MTRCL, he will discuss the planning of the HK section of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link which will connect HK to the national high speed network now under construction. The 26km link will be entirely underground and will terminate at a new station in West Kowloon, which will become a major gateway between HK and the mainland.

Mr. Lim, the Executive Director of Siemens AG and the Project Director of the Beijing-Tianjin High Speed Rail, he will discuss this first high speed rail in Mainland of 117 km and double tracked, with terminus at Beijing South and Tianjin main railway station.

The seminar is jointly organised by NTU Alumni Association (Civil & Geology), the Civil and Geotechnical Divisions of HKIE.
