Programme highlights

This presentation describes the problems and issues relating to production, transportation, installation and operation of existing wind turbines and water turbines.  The presentation outlines how the new design has overcome the existing problems.  New design concepts in the construction of the turbines and various uses of the turbines are also discussed.  Animations of the turbine along with a video demonstrating an actual model will also be shown.

 

 

Speaker

Ir Dr Louis Lam is a specialist in wind and structural engineering.  He started his research in this field in 1969.  He was a Lecturer in the University of Hong Kong from 1976 to 1987.  Since his retirement in 2004, he has devoted his time and effort to green energy generation leading to the development of the new turbine system described in the present presentation.
