Programme Highlights

The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) Hong Kong Boundary Crossing Facilities (HKBCF) cum southern landfall of the Tuen Mun-Chek Lap Kok Link (TM-CLKL) will be built on an artificial island of approximately 150 hectares.  The HZMB HKBCF reclamation project team has introduced a sustainable and novel reclamation approach that eliminates the need for dredging and disposal of soft marine deposits - an unprecedented non-dredge methodology for seawall construction.  This approach of seawall construction is the first ever in Hong Kong and can significantly enhance the environmental performance during construction stage and reduce the demand on limiting natural fill resources.

In this seminar the speakers will share their experience in developing the methodology, outline the design principles and construction aspects of the scheme, discuss the benefits and future development of the methodology.
