Programme Highlights

Civil Engineers are often required to play a leading role in infrastructure projects, which will need to provide a safe environment for the public.  The seminar will provide a brief overview on the roles of a civil engineer from the fire safety perspective and also the roles of the Fire Services Department.   Fire safety provisions for infrastructure projects will be discussed and compared with the provisions of FSI in buildings.  Moreover, the prescriptive design against the performance-based design with examples will also be provided.

Speaker

Ir Dominic Cheung joined the Hong Kong Fire Services Department in 1978 and is now Deputy Chief Fire Officer of the Fire Safety Command. He is the Chairman of the Fire Division of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers for Session 2010/2011.
