The post-disaster reconstruction after Wenchuan [5.12] Earthquake in 2008 is a significant public event in a specific era, while the reconstruction of Beichuan New Town in Sichuan is the epitome of the whole process. The post-disaster development planning for Beichuan New Town is considered as a milestone in China's urban and rural planning.
