Seminar – Introduction on “Voluntary Building Assessment Scheme"

Programme Highlights

The Voluntary Building Assessment Scheme (VBAS) is designed to be an enhanced alternative to the Mandatory Building Inspection Scheme (MBIS), promulgating good management and maintenance of buildings as a proactive and ongoing practice.  The event provides an opportunity for members and assessors to share views and to better prepare themselves for undertaking the Assessments.

 

 

Speaker

Mr Augustine Chow, General Manager (Maintenance), Head of the Maintenance Section of the Hong Kong Housing Society.  Being a Fellow member of both RICS and HKIS as well as a Professional member of the CIQS, Mr. Chow has 36 years of professional working experience in the building industry. The fields of experience include building control, consultancy, rehabilitation and maintenance.  He contributed to education as a Senior Lecturer of the City University of Hong Kong in the 90’s.  Around the same time, which was the era of quality management development, he obtained a degree of Master of Science in Quality Management.  As a member of the committee in the development of the VBAS and the current HKHS member in the Hong Kong Building Quality Assessment Panel, he has extensive knowledge in the VBAS.

 

Remark

This seminar will be conducted in Cantonese and supplemented with a PowerPoint in English.
