Programme Highlight

This project aims at laying a new submarine water main across the Adamasta Channel from Tai Kwai Wan, Cheung Chau to Ha So Pai, Lantau Island and the associated lands mains for connection to the existing fresh water supply system.  It involves:-

• laying of approximately 1.4km of 500mm diameter submarine water main from Ha So Pai, Lantau Island to Tai Kwai Wan, Cheung Chau by horizontal directional drilling (HDD) method;
• construction of landfalls and associated works at Ha So Pai, Lantau Island and at Tai Kwai Wan, Cheung Chau; and
• laying of approximately 150m of 450mm diameter land mains along Cheung Kwai Road in Cheung Chau

Participants will visit the control room of the HDD and receive a presentation of technical challenges for the deep drilling below Adamasta Channel.
