Programme Highlight

Reliability of electricity supply is instrumental in securing Hong Kong’s status as a world-class city as well as in powering up the long-term social and economic development of Hong Kong.  As the largest electricity company that serves 80% of the population in Hong Kong, the CLP Power provides safe electricity supply at a world-class reliability of 99.999%.

The visit provides an opportunity to understand how electricity is generated at the Castle Peak Power Station, which is one of the world’s cleanest coal-fired power plants equipped with large-scale desulphurisation and nitrogen oxide reduction facilities.

The visit will include a tour at the Electric City, which features interesting and informative displays that explain the fundamental principles of electricity, power generation, transmission and distribution. The CLP staff will also give you a briefing about their performance under the current regulatory regime as well as their effort in promoting energy saving.
