Programme Highlight

There will be substantial development in the West Kowloon Reclamation Development (WKRD) including the West Kowloon Cultural District (WKCD) and the West Kowloon Terminus of the Hong Kong Section of Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link (XRL).

In order to accommodate the development, a traffic study for the WKRD was commissioned by the Transport Department and was completed in 2009. The traffic study identified and recommended various traffic improvement schemes including the proposed road improvement works.

This technical visit will start with a brief introduction to road improvement in WKRD, followed by a site walk to major facilities.

• Number of participants is limited to 18 on a first-come first-served basis with priority given to members of HKIE Civil Division.

• Applicants who have already successfully registered to or participated in more than FIVE (5) visits organised by Civil Division in the session 2016-17 will be given lower priority during the process of registration.
